Our Mission has evolved. We started as a group of two volunteers to help Sokong 1 Public Elementary School (SDN 1 Sokong) continue rebuilding from the 2018 earthquake and 2020 pandemic.
We are very grateful to see 2021 as a promising year as we grow into a team of 14 volunteers. Our TESL (Teaching English as Second Language) Program starts again on August 5 2021.
OUR ACCOMPLISHMENT TO DATE (August 6, 2021):
– 1600 hours have been dedicated into all activities relate to fundraisers and TESL (Teaching English as Second Language) Fellowship Program.
– 65 students are currently being taught Conversational English weekly by 5 high school volunteers from San Francisco Bay Area.
Near 10% of Indonesia’s population is still living in poverty, which means living less than $30.29 per month. According to UNICEF, the poorest households are five times more likely to be out of school than wealthy families, and most dropouts are girl students. Check out our blog about the importance of educating a girl.
